Remote Coaching

Remote Coaching

You train alone. You do not have to feel alone.

This is coaching, not content. One consolidated offering for serious open-water swimmers training for events over 5 km, mostly alone, who do not want to feel alone.

The work is structure, decision-making, consistency, accountability, and steady support across a three-month-plus window. A coach who knows your event, your schedule, and your patterns, and adjusts your plan when life does what life does.

Intake is capped at 4 to 6 swimmers. The attention stays real because the number stays small. Not every swimmer is accepted, and that is deliberate.

The core promise

You will always know what to swim, when to swim, and why it matters.

  • You train with a clear, personalised plan every week
  • You know your readiness, because someone qualified is watching
  • You stay on plan, because drift is noticed early
  • You carry the mental load together with your coach, not alone

Who it is for

  • Open-water swimmers training for events over 5 km, first-time or repeat
  • Swimmers who train mostly alone, by necessity or by choice
  • Serious swimmers vulnerable to doubt, inconsistency, or life interruptions
  • Adults who want guidance without dependence. English-speaking.

Not for beginners, swimmers who want only workouts with no accountability, or anyone unwilling to engage or provide feedback.

What is included

  • A fully personalised, adaptive programme built around your event, your fitness, and your available time, adjusted week by week
  • Active oversight: your sessions are seen, your stats are reviewed weekly, drift and skipped weeks are noticed and addressed early
  • Monthly structured call, weekly WhatsApp check-ins, and a 12-hour response window during active training
  • A Red, Yellow, Green decision guide so you never have to make hard training calls under fatigue
  • Open-water safety and conditions guidance: cold, current, swell, and visibility
  • A structured event-readiness phase that adjusts your load and steadies your confidence before the swim
  • The Swim Training Toolkit Digital, included
  • Nutrition and fuelling guide, land exercises guide, and cold-water acclimatisation guide, all included
  • Remote Video Analysis available as an optional add-on when stroke efficiency becomes the limiting factor

  • How it Works

A short WhatsApp or email message about your goal is enough to start. Sue will arrange a 20 to 30 minute suitability call to discuss your event, your training history, your available time, and whether this is the right fit. Not every swimmer is accepted.

    Investment

R2,500 per month (approx. $135). Three-month minimum. Monthly billing. No annual lock-in. The price reflects personalised attention and a capped intake.

    What comes next

Remote Video Analysis is available as a once-off when stroke efficiency becomes the limiting factor. One Stroke at a Time eBook will keep you motivated and inspired.
